Following a famous travel of some members of the association in Niger to observe the total eclipse of the Sun in March 2006 (pictures), there was a need to continue with the experience of sharing the sky and the stars.

This idea became more concrete when we started looking for the places suitable to observe the next total eclipse of the Sun, in August 2008. The Greenland made us dream, but there was also a rude awakening when we realised how difficult it would be to get there. But, united as a group, we decided to move forward!

On Saturday 6 January 2007, ten people decided to found this association (pictures) – the statutes were adopted, the committee was set up and the next activities were proposed.
